Family Health of Rehoboth

Family Health of Rehoboth is a primary care medical practice conveniently located in the Lighthouse Plaza on Route 1, between the Giant and the K-Mart. The practice offers primary care services for patients 12 years and over with Dr. Philip Shaheen, M.D. Dr. Shaheen is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative medicine.

Dr. Shaheen has joined the medical staff of Lewes Surgical and Medical Associates and is practicing at the Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach office locations. He is a graduate of Damascus University, School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria.

After relocating to the United States, Dr. Shaheen completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Wright State University, School of Medicine in June of 2003. He then completed Fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Palliative Medicine (2003-2004) and Experimental Therapeutics in Oncology (2004-2005).

Dr. Shaheen has devoted much of his time to research and has authored many papers and writings on various oncology-related topics. He is licensed to practice medicine in Delaware and Ohio and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

He belongs to the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition to English, Dr. Shaheen is fluent in Arabic and Armenian. He is also able to read and write French.
