Cedar Tree Surgical Center

Cedar Tree Center is a privately owned and operated free-standing surgical center. In January 1999, the Center began to provide convenient, high-quality healthcare for the community. Cedar Tree has earned a reputation for excellent care in a warm and friendly environment. The surgical center is nestled within the largest multi-specialty medical center in Sussex County, thus providing patients with numerous health care options. Cedar Tree also offers a new technology for treating venous insufficiency called VNUS Closure. It is only offered at a few locations in the state of Delaware.

The surgical center has several physicians performing outpatient procedures. The procedures offered include, but are not limited to: GI services, such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, hernia repair, comprehensive breast surgical intervention including sentinel node excisional biopsy, vascular access catheter placement, carpal tunnel release, rectal and hemorrhoid surgery, and skin lesions excision with immediate reconstructive surgeries. Minor gynecologic procedures are also performed at Cedar Tree Surgical Center. Additionally, various types of minimally-invasive pain management procedures are performed in the surgical center.

The center also has a comprehensive laser center that provides the following services:

• Hair removal
• Treatment and removal of warts, (and other viral lesions), spider veins, actinic keratosis, brown skin discoloration, hemangioma, birth marks, rosacea, and keloids
• Tattoo removal
• Dermabrasion, for Acne, and fine wrinkles
• UVA/UVB light treatment of psoriasis, and other skin disorders

Anesthesia care is provided by a licensed certified registered nurse anesthetist. The center also employs specialized nursing and ancillary staff dedicated to excellent patient care.

Cedar Tree Surgical Center is licensed by the State of Delaware and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations/ National Quality Approval. The Center recently completed a very successful survey and was awarded full accreditation status for the three year period of June 2004 to June 2007. All our physicians are specialty trained and Board Certified in their respective medical/surgical specialty.
